James has studied in New York with Wynn Handman at his studio, T. Schreiber Studio and Patsy Rodenburg whenever/wherever he can find her. He has worked with Cameron Watson, Lesly Kahn, and Tom O'Brien since moving out West. He is a proud member of Rogue Machine Theater Company in L.A, where he appeared in L.A's premieres of Earthquakes in London, and starred in the title role in Oppenheimer, as well as roles in Still Life and Honky. Other theater company appearances include at the Skylight Theater, the Garry Marshall Theater and with Playwrights Arena. .

James has appeared on TV in The Young and The Restless, Masters of Sex and the award-winning iPromise. He has also performed as the lead in the award-winning short film The Dangle from Writer/Director Michael Ravich and a mad Russian in the web series Meeple People while working on multiple TV shows and films in Greek and English as a looper/ADR Voice.
